Visa

  • Visa Application Procedure
    1) Fill in a Visa Application Forms (available here as a .pdf file)
    2) Submit them to the Consulate Section with the required documents (see below).
    3) The time required for visa issuance varies depending on each case (it may take more than one month).
    4) The visa fee is SR 110.
  • Forms of Documents to be Submitted with Visa Application Forms
    1) Letter of Reason for Invitation Forms (English version: available here as a .pdf file)
    2) Letter of Guarantee Forms (English version: available here as a .pdf file)
    3) A letter of introduction and guarantee from the local sponsor in the Kingdom(English version: available here as a .pdf file)
    4) Reason for Invitation Forms (Japanese version: available here as a .pdf file)
    5) Letter of Guarantee Forms (Japanese version: available here as a .doc file)
  • Business Visa
    1) A recent passport-sized photographs
    2) A valid passport good for travel to Japan
    3) Exit & Re-entry Visa (for non-Saudis)
    4) A confirmed round-trip ticket or reservation print-out
    5) A letter of introduction and guarantee from the local sponsor in the Kingdom stating the purpose of travel of the applicant and duration of stay in Japan (Certified by chamber of commerce and industry for non Saudi)
    6) An original letter of invitation and guarantee from the host company in Japan
    7) A letter of guarantee from the host organization in Japan.
    8) A photocopy of Iqama (For Non-Saudis)
  • Tourist Visa
    1) A recent passport-sized photographs
    2) A valid passport good for travel to Japan
    3) Exit & Re-entry Visa (for non-Saudis)
    4) A confirmed round-trip ticket or reservation print-out
    5) Proof of hotel reservation in Japan (i.e. a confirmation letter from the hotel etc.)
    6) Proof of funds for the stay in Japan (i.e. a bank statement, traveler cheques, a certificate of income etc.)
    7) A letter of introduction and guarantee from the local employer in the Kingdom stating the purpose and duration of the trip.(Certified by chamber of commerce and industry for non Saudis)
    8) A photocopy of Iqama (For Non-Saudis)
  • Visiting Relatives
    1) A recent passport-sized photographs
    2) A valid passport good for travel to Japan.
    3) Exit & Re-entry Visa (for non-Saudis)
    4) A confirmed round-trip ticket or reservation print-out.
    5) An original letter of invitation and guarantee from the host person in Japan.
    6) Proof of funds for your stay in Japan (i.e. a bank statement, traveler cheques, a certificate of income etc.)
    7) A letter of introduction and guarantee from the local employer in the Kingdom stating the purpose and duration of the trip. (Certified by chamber of commerce and industry for non Saudis)
    8) Copy of the Alien Registration Card of the host person in Japan.
    9) A photocopy of Iqama (For Non-Saudis)
  • Criteria of Visa Issuance
    In principle, Japanese visa will be issued to an applicant, when he/she fills all of the following requirements and the issuance is regarded as reasonable.
    a) The applicant possesses a valid passport and is entitled for the re-entry to a country of which he/she is a national or citizen or a country of his/her residence.
    b) All submitted documents shall be authentic, completed and satisfactory.
    c) The activities to be engaged in while in Japan, or the civil status or the position of the applicant, and the period of stay shall meet the requirements for the status of residence and the period of stay stipulated in the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act. (Cabinet Order No.319 of 1951. hereinafter referred to as “the Act”)
    d) The applicant shall not fall under any of the items of Article 5, Paragraph1 of the Act.
